Yingdan Lai(蛋霓) is an animation director and educator, originally from China and now based in California, USA. Her expertise lies in making experimental narrative animated films, where she explores the intricacies of relationships and their stories, drawing inspiration from her childhood experiences. Central to her work is the portrayal of subtle emotions through unique and unexpected character performances. 2024, She graduated from CalArts MFA Experimental Animation Program. She is currently teaching in the Sony Pictures Media Arts Program and working as a freelance animator.
